BOAT ASIA 2011(featuring) first-ever city sailing race at Marina Bay
South Asia’s largest and longest running boat show, Boat Asia, returns on a larger scale from 12th to 15th May 2011 with 15% more on-land and on-water display space as well as the addition of a brand new show at The Promontory@ Marina Bay in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District (CBD).
Boat Asia at this new location will bring the very best of a luxury nautical lifestyle to those who want to experience it for themselves. Already one of the signature events in the region’s boating calendar, Boat Asia 2011 will once again play host to an extensive array of spectacular sailing yachts and magnificent powerboats from some of the world’s most prestigious boating brands, including Azimut, Pershing, Horizon, Princess, Majesty, Lagoon, Sunreef, Monte Carlo, Grand Banks and Beneteau. Big boys who love their big toys can also look forward to the return of the popular superyacht segment during Boat Asia. From the sophisticated 90-foot Horizon to the 88-foot Majestic, visitors will have the rare opportunity to get up close and personal with these magnificent gentle giants.
To up the lifestyle ante, a BAYfront Challenge will also be held at Marina Bay in conjunction with Boat Asia. This first-ever city race will take place from 13th to 15th May 2011 and will see 16 teams competing head on in high performance Laser Bahias. Supported by the Singapore Sailing Federation and the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore, the BAYfront Challenge will not only add a touch of glamour and excitement to Boat Asia, but also seeks to raise overall awareness of sailing in Singapore.
Aside from a stellar line-up of breathtaking boats and innovative marine equipment, visitors to Boat Asia will also have the opportunity to indulge in the luxury lifestyle via the Luxe Galleries at Keppel Bay and Marina Bay. Whether you are in the market for exclusive premium developments or looking to buy the latest car model from Audi or super bike from Can-Am, Boat Asia will satisfy all your lifestyle desires and more. Foodies will also be delighted with the myriad of delectable gourmet options and alcoholic beverages available, which can be enjoyed in airconditioned comfort or alfresco-style by the water’s edge. Fashionistas at Keppel Bay will also be privy to a sensual on-water fashion show which they can enjoy while sipping cocktails at the chillout bar.
Mr. Herman Ho, Managing Director of TMX Show Productions Pte Ltd, said “By combining both boating and lifestyle elements, we are looking to produce a comprehensive show which caters to a wider audience. With the addition of the new show at The Promontory and the BAYfront Challenge at Marina Bay, visitors can look forward to an even bigger and more exciting spectacle which will awaken the sailor in each of them. Boat Asia 2011 welcomes you onboard for your voyage towards the very best in luxury waterfront lifestyle with us.”
